France is sinking into the hardest right-wing politics.

We already knew how little President Macron cares about democracy, preferring to address social issues with force rather than dialogue. Now, he has imposed an extreme-right prime minister who supports the economic system that has been destroying the countries in it for years. The left-wing coalition that led in the elections has been brushed aside in the most cavalier manner by the so-called… President. As a result, France is now in the streets, with the far right gaining significant advantage from Macron’s choice of prime minister. Meanwhile, continuous news channels, owned by the president’s friends, attempt to justify the unjustifiable. In such a scenario, with the country becoming ungovernable, the least that could be done would be for the president to resign. But that won’t happen, as this extreme right clings to power, running France and being part of this destructive European movement.

The numerous issues awaiting the government will be hard to pass, as they will likely be opposed by the left-wing coalition if it manages to remain somewhat united, and by the far right, which by blocking the new government, will contribute to general instability, likely forcing the resignation of this government. This would allow the far right to try to come out on top in new elections, capitalizing on the protests that will certainly be widespread, given the general discontent of the population.

Bad news for investors in France, who, already dealing with a disastrous economy, cannot expect a flourishing one in the coming years. In fact, the number of business closures has been accelerating every month since Macron’s second term, during which he has greatly contributed to indebting the country. If we add to this his total incompetence in geopolitical matters, we get this explosive cocktail into which France has now plunged.

A sad sight, especially when compared to the American elections, where we see Republicans rejecting the extreme right represented by Trump, moving toward the Democrats, and the Democrats choosing Vice President Kamala Harris, whose elegance and the clarity of her thoughtful remarks, exuding intelligence, is surely an example of what politics should be today.
