The Caroline House – Bed and Breakfast
You, the traveler who regularly crosses Texas, provided you have one of those modern vehicles with poor soundproofing that makes a 200-kilometer journey feel like 500… Haven’t you ever felt the desire to stop at a historical site dating back to the period of slavery transformed into a place of sweetness and poetry, run by a charming person named Mary, who will do everything to make you feel at home? Of course, this magical place is located in Montgomery, Texas.
Available for rent are guest rooms, as well as a restored former slave cabin turned into a lovely room with a small sitting area and all modern amenities. There’s also a family house that can accommodate a small family. If you visit during spring and summer, you’ll see beautiful plants outside, with spaces arranged for sitting and daydreaming under the moonlight. In the winter, you can also observe butterflies fluttering in the garden. If you have a poet’s soul, this place is made for you.
You might also encounter Mary’s adorable dog. Everything in this place exudes beauty, simplicity, and gentleness, down to the harmoniously served breakfasts. It’s nothing like the sterile hotels along the roads. I am convinced that if you come to The Caroline House, you’ll want to stay for a few days. The hospitality of the merchants in this town is exceptional, and there are great places to discover all around:
- Our friends at H Wines
- Phil’s Roadhouse & Grill
- And one of the best burgers in Texas, if not the best
The list is far from complete… The first thing you’ll notice at Caroline House is Mary’s wide smile. The rest of this adventure is for you to create, but I bet that if you stop there once, you’ll come back. We, too, will return again and again, much like arriving at a second home. If you crave authenticity and kindness, The Caroline House is for you. We rate this place with “3 Stars” for the quality of the service and the exceptional quality of the welcome.
